What happened to UniverseMC?

Quick little question, seen as though I've been scouring the internet for ages and simply cant join the discord server...

What on earth happened to UniverseMC, i mean i played it years ago and i know its been going downhill since then but does anyone have the details?
I know a few rough things about player spoofing etc. But does anyone know if its fully shut down permanently or are there any leaving messages for example.

I was YouTuber on that server since 2017 and if you don't already know from the very beginning until it's closure it was all about money for the owner. The server only grew in popularity because of ad bots on other servers and I assume the server closed because near the end it was pretty much dead i'm sure it was barely generating revenue anymore and that's the reason. There is no official statement and I think the owner could care less because it got what he wanted out of it.
