What attacks can happen to a Minecraft server and discord channel?

I have heard horror stories that it takes down the server easily, ruins people's overall player experience and also it spams Discord that people leave.

What are the procedures, to protect against griefing, random bot join, attacks etc.?

How do you protect your server and discord?

If you dont know what youre doing DO NOT USE A VPS, use a reputable minecraft host, its WAYYY easier to screw up hosting on a vps

also for your discord server get like a captcha bot to stop bots and make sure to setup perms correctly so nobody can @ everyone
