What is the most popular type of server?

Hello. I am interested in creating a server. I would like to start off with one type/gamemode. Please leave me some feedback on which one is the best.

These sounds like amazing servers, of course, there are probably an excessive amount of same types of these.

You should start off with something unique first, build a player base, then rule them all!

I suggest not doing the most popular gamemode.

Which one do you think would get me the most players?

Prison and Skyblock, though skyblock was huge in 1.7 as well and its seemed to keep up its popularity

Don't make the most popular one; a large network will already have it and it'll just make it harder for yourself to find a decent player base. My suggestion is to make something unique and if not then chose the game mode which least servers have. You have to stand out to be noticed

I would recommend making unique survival or towny servers. You can never have to many towny or survival and there aren't enough of them. We need more large towny servers that get that good vibe. It needs to feel like one large family.
