What is your opinion about Minecraft 1.17 not supporting Java 11?

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I guess it was a way of unifying their Tech Stack. It's likely the were already running this Version of Java on their backend. It also allows them to use newer Java Features without breaking Tons of Servers

Wondering people’s opinions.
it's dumb that they just jumped to a version that doesn't even have official support and end up just using adoptopenjdk. either way their launcher is very stupid as it now doesn't allow my game to launch with anything other than the integrated java and just gives me a jni error, when infact java 17 and 18, even tho they're early access, work perfectly.

only thing I use it for is my alt since it's on a microsoft account and multimc doesn't support that yet
