We can all validly agree Minecraft is completely over saturated but, what’s wrong with competitive Factions or competitive MC in general? Is it just there’s no other incentive other than money? Not fun anymore? I’m generally curious. Please drop any opinions down below.

People DDosS & Dox these days. (Because they are unable to win)
That is the reason it is not fun anymore.

Why do you, personally, think this is done? I personally don’t think it roots from the people themselves (the argument doesn’t stem a DDOS, just the “appreciation” of doing it feels good). The fact that people can’t see each other face-to-face over the Internet dramatically impacts how they interact with each other. How do you think someone could solve this issue?

I'd say put a chat filter on every server that has this sort of behaviour. Slowly people will start to get used to not saying "ez".

Its mostly because of how Minecraft died due to fortnite and kids went there, toxic content creates toxic personalities and then
Fortnite's downfall made a great rain of 12 year old toxic brats onto Minecraft and that has really just jumpstarted it up again.
Ofc there was toxicity before, but not as much as it is today.

I agree with your concern on the chat filter. I wouldn’t take it as far as this but, if someone was to advertise a server on a Discord server, would you say it’s too harsh to require them to restrict what others say? Does that revoke anything from the players or do you think that’s reasonable due to how much toxicity there is in the playerbase?

This is just an example of logical fallacy. Just because a majority of people are being toxic does not make it viable and/or normal behaviour. Another example would be people in jail, there are alot of criminals alot who have done the same crimes, but just because there are so many people who've done that crime, does not make that not a crime.

That’s actually kind of what I was going for. You can’t also supply everyone with the same thing cause it wont fit everyone. They’ll find ways to exploit it, I’m just curious if there is an incentive out there bigger than money to suffice some of the toxicity rooted in communities.

Take a look at SaicoPvP, it is proof that toxicity exists everywhere even in the server that does not award any sort of factionstop prizes. Its a problem with the community and most people just go on with it.[DOUBLEPOST=1602765868][/DOUBLEPOST]

Causing other people like me, to have to resort to leaving the community.

I agree with toxicity part, and also i believe most people that do DDOS threats are mostly kids, or attest i would hope so. Another point is that a lot players now want instant rewards without having to working hard for it.

And with Minecraft being oversaturated and you put on filters/restrictions to prevent toxicity those toxic player will just find another server where that kind of behavior is rewarded(which is kind of a double edged sword, less toxic people but also less players on the server). I think better option would be to reward positive activities instead of adding restrictions to players since sometimes it can hurt player experience for those are not toxic as well.

As much fun as chat filters are I don’t like being told what I can and can’t say by a Minecraft server. Catering towards children never lasts in the long run as the kids will inevitably grow up and no longer be children. Plus chat filters are a slippery slope and typically lead down a path to total censorship.

Also, if someone saying “ez” is enough to trigger people then they probably need to grow a backbone or just get off the internet. People get offended by the smallest of things nowadays and it’s honestly just pathetic.

I do 100% agree with you though on toxicity being the biggest problem with the competitive community/PvP community.

Minecraft is not really a game where a competitive game mode is possible. The game is to easy to cheat and gain an advantage over other players and the community is too split for it to ever be successful as everyone plays on different versions and have different opinions on what constitutes good "PVP".

It'd be wonderful if it was possible to have an enjoyable competitive experience in the game, but it's impossible in my opinion.
Maybe possible if a new PVP game mode is created that doesn't suffer from those cons, which I doubt is possible.

But hey, if you have ideas for a PVP game mode that you think is new and doable, message me and I'll see if it's possible and create it :)

The issue is there because the market is there. When you have a market where you can pull 40$ per player, you get people wanting to benefit from that. There are several "highly successful" owners with no moral compass that don't care as long as they earn. They exploit the behavior that this group of players has, they've perfected the way to do it (give them cash, force them to spend more than they earn) and they don't see a reason to stop as long as the cash is coming in.

AS for solving this ,it's not going to happen. Servers benefit from the ego effect, toxicity, etc; because it increases competition (you need to prove to that guy how much better you are than him, so you're going to get those epic crate keys), which in turn increases profit.

Catch22.

It’s just not the same vibe it had back in 2015-2016. People nowadays I think take it a little too seriously and can’t draw the line that it’s just a game. Back in kohi and badlion people were still toxic, but it felt more like friendly banter rather than personal attacks and other weird ass shit.
