I would need a host for the following servers:

  • SkyBlock server (100 to 500 players)

  • Lobby server

  • Bungee server
I was thinking about OVH USA.

What are your experiences with OVH? What should I pay attention to when choosing a server for SkyBlock, Lobby, and Bungee?

Should it be SSD and at least 1Gbps internet speed? Intel Xeon E3 CPU, 32GB RAM, what else?

I understand that it needs to be dedicated to the SkyBlock server but what about lobby and bungee? Can it be VPS (since those servers are not for playing but more to use the for the connection/portal?

ReliableSites or OVH. You can run the bungee and lobby off the same dedicated.

This is confusing, between dedicated and game server... different people with different experiences are saying different things.[DOUBLEPOST=1572707483][/DOUBLEPOST]
What is FTW?

it is a dedicated game server. If you're running minecraft servers you definitely don't want to run any kind of xeon.

OVH dedicated game server with a 7700k 64 gig of ram and you can run all 3 servers off of it. Minecraft is single threaded so a high core count xeon wont benefit you.

What would you suggest instead if not Xeon? is it that bad?

So basically you're saying I should get OVH dedicated 'Gaming server' not 'Rise Dedicated Server' ?

I would like to host lobby and bundgee seperate since it works well for DDos in case if someone does DDos main server is still good.

unless you give out the actual dedicated server ip then you should be fine. as i said minecraft is single threaded so it cant benefit off of xeons

Use the OVH Game Dedicated Server lineup or SoYouStart (ovh subbrand)
I've checked SoYouStart but their bandwidth isn't more than 250mbps, I think OVH 1gbps is much better.. less latency..

You shouldn't let your server use all the bandwidth anyway because of ddos attacks. put a rate limit on all your servers to prevent that

I've learned from recent experience you do not need anything other than OVH GAME-64 dedicated servers.

If you are on a budget I would suggest SoYouStart dedi's, which are basically old ovh dedi's that are a little behind but cheaper.
