Software Engineering, also looking to maybe minor in Cinematography. I have a few interests, but all my interests are basically towards technology fields.Since you suggested tools useful for college, what direction do you plan to go in for college? I may be able to give you a few pointers towards programs or toolkits that are recommended.
Sadly these fields are both very expensive and anything really worth buying is $1000+ at least...I see. I'm not too experienced in either field, but for cinematography there's a number of options. for one, getting a decent video camera, or some good editing software.
for software engineering I honestly have no idea what you could buy. Maybe save for if you need to buy a license to a certain language later on.
There's another option btw, something that may interest your cinematography side. Get a drone with camera. Depending on the laws in your country/state you should be able to fly that in a field outside the city at the very least. If you can get a camera on a basic gyro-stabilized platform, you can do some really nice filming with it.
there's this drone that automatically follows and films you if you're wearing an armband thats used as its target and control panel. If that's within your budget, that might allow you to do some very cool things.
