What the hell is this?

Okay, so this was implemented a little bit ago, and now it's starting to really bother me since I like reading scam reports.

Why the hell, is a banned person's text crossed out like this?
I apologize if this was a suggestion that got accepted, but I feel like this is completely unnecessary.

Can someone leave their thoughts on this down below, or tell me why this was implemented?

It's meant to put emphasis on the fact that the user is no longer a member of this site.

Really? I honestly didn't even start seeing this until 1-2 months ago. I don't feel it's necessary, as the emphasis is a little too much. I still don't see a point to it, as people know when other people are banned...
