High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I'd answer this question!

oh wait.
Well, modified question for you:
As owner, what one thing would you do for these forums ignoring how hard it would be/price of doing it?

That's a great question, and I actually have been thinking about this quite a bit over the past few weeks just as a bit of fun. I actually have a few things if that's alright!

1. A proper and built-in middle manning system. A system that MC-Market could have where you can like.. deposit money in and then do safe and secure deals with MC-Market itself being the middleman with an automated system. The problem with this is that I don't really think it's possible for us to defend against all of the chargebacks with 100% certainty, plus it'd easily take thousands of dollars to get done properly, just not in the cards right now.
2. Enforce stricter punishments. This already has started a bit by us decreasing the permanent ban threshold to 75 rather than 110, but I feel that having it significantly lower would make MC-Market a more high-quality and friendly community. If we made it like 20 warning points for a permanent ban it'd certainly remove 90% of the annoying users from our forum. After all, if you can't handle to not be warned on a forum, why should you be trusted to doing deals with people? This can't happen for obvious reasons, we'd probably lose like 20% of the active users on the site or something (I haven't ran the numbers).
3. Force all deals to be done on site through our PMs and stuff. Getting a proper and simple to use PM system that's similar to skype built in to MCM would be extremely useful to stop impersonators, validate logs, and generally stop scams I'd imagine. If you've used Fiverr, sort of similar to that system.
4. Expand into other games and marketplace niches. Right now MCM is so focused in a very small niche of people who like making money on minecraft. Expanding into focusing also on, for example, OG accounts for instagram, skype, emails, etc have a much larger audience and would lead MCM to grow in the future, even after Minecraft dies.
5. Make suggestions be given through support requests. This one is the most possible out of all of the other points above and having suggestions be in a private place would be an insanely useful thing for my own sanity. 99% of the suggestions made can instantly be denied and don't need input like making a MCM app and stuff, without having a bunch of people giving their explanations it might make the system a little easier to deny suggestions without being attacked and disagreed with.
6. Host more contests, giveaways, fundraisers, and other cool community-oriented stuff. The cost isn't much of a factor of this, but hosting yearly fundraisers, bi-monthly contests, bi-monthly giveaways, and fun stuff like this may make this great community flourish. Our last Water.org fundraiser was absolutely mind blowing with all of the support it received, so I definitely want another one before the year is up.
7. This is more of a personal one, but I'd like to be able to post much more regularly in the discussion sections of the site and be more involved in the community, as I feel over the past few months I haven't been particularly active outside of suggestions.

But yeah, that's just my thoughts. I apologise for any grammatical mistakes and stuff made here, I haven't really been focusing on my wording too much. It's also worth noting that these are simply ideas I've had and I don't want this to make useless "OMG MICKS FORCING DEALS TO BE DONE ON SITE" threads, it's most likely never going to happen.

I would do exactly this: -snip!- courtesy of @choke me

I've removed the link here and added it to the censor list. Some of the things it said were pretty slanderous and untrue, don't link it again in the future please!

Add CloudFlare back...
Also while I'm at it, Cloudflare definitely isn't something that we need right now. I have spoken about this at length with d3l3t3d and am convinced that it adds little-to-no protection against any of the attacks we had in the past, they were quite hefty and even the $200 plan couldn't protect against it.

The system that we have set up right now is definitely enough to detect and block any incoming attacks.

Firstly get the stability and uptime sorted out.

Then instead of spending most of MCM's profits on lemon tree fertilizer (*Cough* Mick). I would spend it on hiring a couple of developers to add all those good suggestions that were denied because they would be too much work / too expensive.

Spend a few hours rethinking the reputation system. Come up with a few better ideas for reputation systems, then make an announcement and get people to vote on which they like best.

Change my name colour to a rainbow.

Change supreme to lemon:

Add those better looking medals that have been on Mick profile for months, but havent been added to everyone elses yet.

Advertise the forum. Something Mick doesnt do, since the forum is already popular and has a good userbase / new people joining daily. However it took me months before i stumbled upon MCM. I'm sure there are other people out there that would benifit from it, but dont know of it. Therefore a few ads in the right places would work out well.

Make weekly announcements informing people of whats changed, and whats to come.

Reply to peoples threads and enjoy all the reactions I receive. Since been owner means far more people react on your posts, for absolutely no reason. E.g. (www.mc-market.org/members/3911/ 250+ likes for 3 short profile messages)

So Mick if you want me to take over, i'd gladly buy MCM. (Only got just short of 4k though. But im sure that will do).

(Some of the above is serious some isnt.)
