I'm thinking of working on a few commissions in the next few months so ive made my first drawing since pretty much last summer.
Curious what you guys think about this one, how much would you pay for one if anything at all? and what could i do to raise its price?
(its not exactly finished, would need to touch up the line art and coloring so things are more clean but other than that its pretty much what i am aiming for)

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Any chance you could elaborate on that? what kind of detail for example? thanks in advance :)

In my opinion the shirt could use some more detail but make sure you don't exaggerate on that. Eyes give a lot of emotion to a person so maybe you could play around with those as well. The hair looks clean so you don't have to worry about that, neither do you have to worry about the background. Keep me updated, I would like to see your improvements in further work! :)

On MC-M no more than $15, but outside of here - with a few touch ups and changes - I'd say $30-ish.
Outside of here? any suggestions for website and what not, i would love to spread out outside of this community xD[DOUBLEPOST=1528363018][/DOUBLEPOST]

I would say $8. The shading is ''wrong'', you don't seem to understand cloth, wich made you leave it plain and the BG feels plain to. So does the quality of the picture feel weird.Kappa:whistle:;)

Background is pretty simple, if you added a neat design for the background instead of a plain color then it would be around $10-$15. But like everyone else is saying, and I agree with them, $8 would be best.[DOUBLEPOST=1528378162][/DOUBLEPOST]Also. the shading is off by a bit.

I love your style. It’s too cute. I would definitely say add shading, more detail to the hair and maybe a less cut and paste expression. These could easily go for 10/15$ and honestly, the background doesn’t make the picture. I sell a lot of my pfps as transparent so don’t focus on it too much.

Hey babe! This is great!! Don't listen to the people telling you that it's too bland or what not. I do simple backgrounds on my images, as well, and I've easily sold profile pics for the $50+ range ( outside of the MC community, mind you )

Hit me up on discord if you ever want some tips on what to do to get better or anything like that. I'd love to help and give you some pointers. :)
Thanks Gabby, ill def message you for some pointers in the future :D for now i pretty much know what i need to work on,mainly its the expressions id say and maybe just making this more interesting by adding detail i suppose, plus shading and coloring, never really worked on that one haha... also yeah, im not worried about the whole background thing, ive sold portraits and profile pictures for a pretty high price before and they were just flat color backgrounds hehe, real rusty though so figured ill work on something new and simple for now.[DOUBLEPOST=1528404288][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thanks xD and yeah i understand the copy paste face, got to try to make it less symmetrical i think im kinda just stuck with my old days back from like 2 years ago when i just started (if you refer to my current profile pic) used to pretty much draw the minecraft skins as they were, blocky and most of the time symmetrical designs, got to get away from that habit![DOUBLEPOST=1528404380][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'd probably say $5-8 due to the lines not being clean and some of the shading is off. If you fix those, it could easily go for $10-15.
Yeah, the lines def are not clean, partially see through even sometimes, then again, it is a sketch layer, didnt actually make a line art layer before sending this in for a review haha xD thanks for the tip though, appreciate it :thum ... (tots just tried to give you a discord thumbs up... oh boi)[DOUBLEPOST=1528404466][/DOUBLEPOST]

shading is "wrong" doesnt exactly explain much... but ill look into it, thanks.

Well, to be honest, I'd say the biggest thing is looking into color theory. I cannot stress this enough. You shouldn't shade with black. You should shade with different tones of colors. For example, shadows tend to have cooler tones in them. Light spots tend to be a warmer color, unless the lighting is an unnatural source. Also, skin should have red in its shadows because of the blood under the skin. If you ever have issues, try taking an actual photograph and pulling colors from that.
Oh i understand color theory a bit, as much as one can from few random youtube videos and courses on skillshare haha
In this drawing i didnt really do it right on purpose, im working on a new project that requires me to use that multiply layer mode, but usually for shadows i hue shift make it darker and so on :p but then again... maybe ill be able to shade normally and still get the results i want... ill have to spend some time figuring it before i start offering commissions i guess

3 years ago I'd pay $30 for it every day of the week. But lately, a lot of good artists have been introduced to the community and have shown a lot of skill, as well as taking the price down so that they get more commissions. Just keep on working and you'll eventually become one of the best!
Ay i so agree with that, back in the day, prices were higher, but then more and more people start joining the community and since most of them were young kids they had that whole "hey even if i make 1$ thats still pretty awesome" so they would under-price their work and by doing that just drag everyone else's prices down.. sadly.

10-15$ because of the time taken on the piece, background could be more complex to bring the price up as well though :)

Looks good though!
