I don't see a reason to upgrade to version 2 at the moment considering most of the important themes and addons are only available on v1.

There are no plans to upgrade MCM to xF2 at the moment either for this reason. Maybe in 2 years time when it's got more addons and we have time to port all of our custom addons over we might consider it.
