Hello, I heard Minecraft had changed a lot, I heard tons of people changing to crack servers from premium. I'm kinda confused with nowadays community why back then 4 years nobody even cared about cracked? Now all of a sudden it supports both. I was wondering what your guy's options what is best to earn revenue and best to grow as a Minecraft server. I currently have a lifesteal server.

Highly depends on your goal, budget, and tolerance. Let me explain:

Revenue:
  • Premium servers through Mojang's official services allow monetization options like paid ranks, cosmetics, gameplay advantages etc. This provides steady revenue streams.
  • Cracked servers have no official monetization from Mojang, so revenue must come from things like donations, web ads etc. This is, at least for me as Jim, less reliable income.
Player Population:
  • The official paid version has a much larger overall player population to draw from.
  • However, cracked servers can attract players who cannot/will not pay for the game.
Cheating/Exploits:
  • It is generally true that cracked clients have more prevalent cheating/exploiting since there are no official anti-cheat measures.
  • This can ruin the experience on cracked servers if not properly moderated.
  • You will need to spend a lot of money on a good anti-cheat and server-base, as well as a good staff team for moderation.
So, again, if your main goal is maximizing revenue and having an active but well-behaved player base, an official premium server is likely the better option despite the higher overhead costs of a minecraft server host. The monetization and anti-cheat capabilities are important benefits, although to be honest Mojang doesn't care about anti-cheats.
