Stop it you're cringe
idk if he means they have a special role on discord or something like that, if it's like that, then I agree with him, if he's just complaining about the term, then yeah he's way overreacting and i agree with you

lmfao nvm i agree with you

If your saying that the idea of an egirl (not an egirl herself), is less cringe then an individual asking to discuss the topic of their existence, I am a bit flabbergasted as what to reply to that statement.[DOUBLEPOST=1538449749][/DOUBLEPOST]Just to reiterate, I'm not dissing any individual who decides to become an Egirl, i just think the idea of that role is strange.
pls stop that ^

I was chill with you until you started using big words to make yourself sound smarter but used the wrong your.
"Is less cringe than an individual asking to discussmthe topic of their existence, I am a bit flaberghasted as what to reply to that statement" if you're gonna use sentences as I just quoted please use the right your/you're next time.

Okay, this debate turned into against me and not simply educating me on why they exist. Idk if you google egirl it's a wack definition ( I didn't want to bring the definition into it because it's really harsh ). I was simply seeking verification on the topic on why they exist when they have such a bad, background? I guess is how to phrase it. I thought maybe there was a different definition so I asked.

In mineman language its used to describe a female that plays video games on the internet, specifically minecraft. Thats literally the only other defenition (this will be the one more commonly used). I dont know anyone who uses egirl in a bad way. Typically egirls do get more attention and shit but thats expected. As far as I'm aware egirl is not a statement said to look down on someone etc but simply used to describe a girl on the internet, but rather to describe a female in the game with you.

Right, but why wouldn't they brand it something else? Like, well anything other then something like that. If I call myself a wh*** but all my friends know it just means "funny". Does that justify them calling me a wh*** in public? I'm not saying if this is right, or wrong. Just simply confused why they picked that name out of all the names available in the world. I'm just as concerned for their safety as anyone else, I'm not trying too seem all cool here because in essence they would probably just get pissed seeing something like this. It just begs the question, why they would use such a name. We have social boundaries for a reason and are able to co-exist because we have a language and slang. This would not be a time to put that in the category of slang and it cant be used as it's definition in this case, so it's just strange it's called that. I also still think it's strange it exists but that's my point of view. I didn't grow up in this environment so I don't really get it, which partly is the problem.

I've never heard nyone call someone an egirl in public (also sorry, not fully reading ur replies bc its late and night and I cant be bothered, sorry again lol). Everyone has to worry about safety, not just egirls/females in general. I fear for my own safety on the internet sometimes just because it's a normal thing to do. Let me also point out that females on the internet typically call males "eboy" and I still dont really see a problem with that. It seems as tho its all done in good fun and as alot of gamers (including myself) are teenagers we do it just because we feel like it and "why not". Egirls are not something looked down upon in society or ridiculed by peers. They're perfectly average people with average lives who just want to sit down and have a bit of fun after a hard day at school etc. Eboys are the same way, just want to have some fun and play some videogames.[DOUBLEPOST=1538451992][/DOUBLEPOST]

And MASk0 summed it up perfectly, just a meme. No real reason behind it.

I just (*personally, i respect your views as well), find it strange that they are listed as a group type in discord. It's like girls are being advertised in a weird way. I get that for most people it's completely innocent and nothing ever happens; to me it just seems odd. I'd just play with whoever I had met in the gaming world and liked. I wouldn't target a girl or a guy. I get some people get along with girls better in voice chat etc, but still back to the original point, I find it strange they are being highlighted for simply being a female so that guys (or I suppose other girls), can connect and play with them. I don't mean any offense to anyone that was just my take on it. It just feels like it's a setup for something bad to happen. I know it's being over thought, I'd just like to discuss it out of interest.
White knight.
