So I want to get into owning servers but the only problem is that I have no clue how to do any coding or configuration. What is the fastest way to learn how to code and basically run a server?

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

What do you want to code? Java? HTML? Configuration is straight forward, open the configs and work through them.

Hmm I never heard of it, I'll give it a look![DOUBLEPOST=1483388193][/DOUBLEPOST]
For configuring things you just have to dive straight into it, in your spare time just look at the config of plugins, it sounds stupid but that's what I do. That won't teach you how to code though, but if you want to learn how to code plugins, first learn the basics of Java.
I'll try doing that. Thanks!

I have no clue, whatever is the necessary for owning and keeping up a server.

Well I would learn BukkitAPI for Java and I suggest getting someone that will teach you but first you need to know the basics of java so for that I suggest: http://www.w3schools.com/
For configuration literally just work through the config like a text book its not hard its straight forward English and you can always find tutorials online.

Hope this helped,

I'm unsure of if when you're saying Code you actually mean configuring plugins, if you are, though; that's a very simple thing to do. If you're more interested in making plugins yourself rather than employing developers or using already free released plugins out there, then you should learn Java. If you work at it, you could become successful with plugin development within the first 2 months. My opinion though, unless you want a future in programming, it would be more worth while to have someone else do the work for you as it will always be of a higher quality done by a professional rather than a beginner.

If you want a good quality website, once again, unless you want to be a programmer it's not worth your time to learn it as to make a very nice one it will take you much much longer than it would to simply higher a cheap web developer around MCM. I'm not trying to discourage you, knowledge is always useful, if you want it, pursue it, if you don't want it(I say this because you ask for the fastest), simple don't. Usually when someone asks for the fastest way to do something, more or less it's not something their interested in but rather a roadblock to their own agenda that can be solved in different more preferable methods to the said person.

Thank you for the advice, I will begin to learn Java.

If you are looking to code plugins for Bukkit or Spigot, I would recommend: PogoStickDev (Bukkit Development Playlist) also as normal it's best to learn the basics of Java first.
