Whats up with all these new servers botting players?

For real, every server on this website I go on and there is 30 players but no one is talking. You can check there IGNs on google and find them on superalts or something. Just a heads up.. if you are looking to buy a server DO NOT GET SCAMMED! Owners bot servers now to make them look popular, horrible choice to do.

It's not a bad idea to boost 10 players if you have 90, but if you have 30 legit players, and you are botting over 300, or something stupid, then you are doing it wrong.

They make the server look bigger, which get's more players in the long run. It's especially good whenever you are advertising, since players will want to join a larger server than a smaller one.

I agree it makes evaluating a server even more difficult.

I understand it can assist in growing a server or community, however, it's highly deceptive if you are selling a server for example with x player base when in fact they are all just bots.

Obviously if you are selling it, you should tell the owner that you are spoofing, and the legit amount of players are whatever they are, but I'm saying when you advertise.
