Whats up with this new wave of "marketing managers" and platforms

I've been coming back on here every now and again and see these people who claim to be marketing managers and have extensive contacts.

First off, half of the time, its a lie that they can make a dent in your playerbase because they're looking for a quick buck by hitting you up with some creator that is down to do the deal.

Second, I've had/seen several people (the self labeled "marketing managers") and groups now who leech off services by myself or by SuperCoolMomo and my platform by either trying to create tickets acting like they work for the server but are really providing complete scams by going to platforms such as Talensi and attempting to charge you even more than a standard service fee you could get with one efficient and fast order through any of the reputable options.

Third, people who make "professional platforms for marketing" by BUYING A DISCORD WITH EXISTING USERS to make it look like they have a multitude of clients and so on. Word to them, don't bullshit yourself to make it seem like you can provide quality when that isn't the case.


Just looking out for the server community along with creators with this info, take it as you please.

Facts, let this be a warning that I'm not calling anyone out rn. You know who you are within this thread.

I always just contacted the YTers or whoever else myself and voided having to pay a premium to essentially a middle man.

The only way different is if the manager had a discount to said people or was truly a wiz at attracting players.​

Well, most of the time people can't contact those youtubers that will make that impact on their server themselves so they go with a platform like Talensi or something to get it done quick and easy.

I completely agree with Awtra, especially recently there has been a wave of new unheard of marketing managers and platforms promote themselves publicly. Most of the new marketing managers came about because they realized either their passion or the profit at stake. These marketing managers would be inspired from other businesses, which have already been constructed and create their own version. It’s understandable for why; however, they’d end up offering the same services the other platforms do. Talensi being the first of its kind experiences similar interactions.

I remember I saw someone that charged a fee that was more than buying 2 videos from the youtuber they were representing. Mind you, the youtuber had 8k subs.

It's also super difficult to get into managing at such a late stage when all the veterans know every trick in the book and each YT has way too many contacts.

Yeah, not to toot my horn but at this point anyone with a name on youtube or at least most have direct contact with me and trusts me with their promo.

Also just to say, it's very easy to contact youtubers these days, so I don't see the point why people are 'hiring' marketing managers. Especially if you're going to own the server it should be YOU selectively picking the youtubers you want, who you think will meet the criteria and genre of the gamemode, as YOUR probably the person who knows more about the gamemode and where it's going rather than the 'marketing manager'

I agree with this wave of new 'marketers' coming in and it is ridiculous.

I wouldn't considered myself new as I have been doing this for a long time, have a load of contacts (not even in minetube), grew multiple servers and have many vouches.
