I am currently planning on a trip (Probably just a weekend trip) to the United Kingdom in Summer of 2018. My dream destination un the U.K. is London, but I don't mind going some place else if it's cooler. I don't want families in the U.K. and just want to go for the purpose of learning the history, sight seeing, and just to get out of the U.S. :p

Could you guys give any tips or what I should know about London? I've been reading a few articles on traveling to London as well. I definitely want to visit a few of the castles and churches.

Is there anywhere else I should visit in the U.K. instead of London and why? I'm trying to stay in England specifically because don't mind going to other countries in the U.K.

Is there anything else I should know about the U.K.? Like culturally, food, etc. I am from California, U.S. and don't want to offend the citizens there.

Thank you for your help on helping me where I should go. :)

Go to the museums. They're great fun, Art, History etc. If you can, visit the London Eye and the surrounding areas. The price to get on there is a bit expensive, but 100% worth it. There are quite a few Muslims/Asians there, don't shout anything racist, or do anything racist or you're probably fucked. Other than that, enjoy!

If you go London, everyone is a rude cunt.
But there are loads of Places in London you can go to see like, London Eye, River tems and William Shakspears building thing.
In central London most people are kind and mind their own business.[DOUBLEPOST=1473595487][/DOUBLEPOST]There is lots to do in London as a tourist and it's really not hard to find your way around. Just be prepared, it's very different to the US.

That's basically why I want to get out the country. I want to see and experience different things than what I'm used to.[DOUBLEPOST=1473595906][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'll definitely go in the London Eye for sure.[DOUBLEPOST=1473596024][/DOUBLEPOST]

I heard that a few museums offer free admission, it most or just a few? I also know free admission also depends on the specific date.

Most museums, you should be fine, they rarely ever charge.

That's good. It means that I can spend less money and more on alcohol. :D[DOUBLEPOST=1473596778][/DOUBLEPOST]

Go to Liverpool (inner city) and you will most likely get started on. Been beefed there before. More than once.

I live in Birmingham, keep away from it, it's a shit hole and everyone's accents sound horrible. It has in fact been voted the most unattractive accent in Britain.

Go further south or just be generic and go to London, anywhere else (apart from maybe Newcastle if you're old enough to drink, it's fucking mental) is not really worth visiting. To be fair it is quite a boring Country, the weed here is shit too so don't get your hopes up about that.

Basically.

Want to party? Go to Newcastle. People there are great too, the cocaine is also top notch. if you're from California you will pull so many birds it is unreal, I highly suggest utilizing your accent.

Want to sightsee? Go to London. Look around all those places, it's really the only place in Britain with much culture that someone that isn't from the UK would get or necessarily like or understand. London was built for tourists like yourself and you'll have a much easier time round there.
I'll be 18 years old when I get the chance to go to the U.K. Thanks for the information by the way. :)

Cambridgeis a really nice town (or it was when I was there a few years ago). It's really got an international atmosphere, loads of students and tourists and very little stereotypical english "cunts" to be found.
