It's sad to see that when something new comes out no matter what it is, everyone just hates. You can't be living in the past! Obviously the pvp is different and if it becomes an issue for big servers they can easily develop a plugin to reverse the pvp effects. Change is needed for new and great things to arise. Instead of finding reasons why it isn't good, try and find reasons why it is good.

stop assuming things when you don't know how things really work. it just makes you seem ignorant. in reality 1.9 only adds more possibilities and people like you need to stop wishing for pvp to be like it once was, get over it. its so simple to make 1.9 exactly like 1.8.
besides PVP, which can be fixed, how is it terrible?

I personally like the update. New blocks are always a great thing. I used to play factions and hcf but it got boring and to many hackers and faggets so I just went to survival. I love towny and stuff. Whenever new updates come with survival servers its just new possibilities and new chances for better creations. Adds for more things to do so get over the whole pvp thing. IMO pvp is a pretty lame feature. It is fun every know and then but in the whole its pretty crap (not b/c of the updates, because of the people).
shields are useful and don't have to be in pvp, duel wielding is extremely useful for builders, pvping, caving, and all other things, and the arrows are useful in survival, and they don't have to be in pvp. lol
in fully 1.9 servers if you press F the item should go to your second hand
when i say they "don't have to be in pvp", people can choose whether or not they want to use them.
