Assuming you're not looking forward to gaming with the Macbook Air, you should be fine with that, otherwise it's only that // buying used ones with your budget.

Im also debating on if I should get the 11inch or 13inch.

I feel like the 11inch might be to small.

I've seen a few people at school using the 11inch, it is in fact way too small. Most people use 13inch/15inch these days as the newer Pro versions came out as well.

The 11” inch is very small, I don’t really recommend a MacBook air but atleast get the 13

Is a Macbook pro better than a Macbook air?
In terms of performance, the new pro is much better. I use the 2017 with the touch bar (which you shouldn't buy if you want longer battery life), and it's been far better than my previous Macbook air.

Also I find the butterfly keyboard to be easier to type with than the Air's one. Not a fan of the Air's trackpad either.

Way better. The screen alone would be a reason to purchase the pro.
Thanks.

Would this one run slow due to the fact of how old it is?

Yeah... that one is really old. I'd suggest at least a 2015 model.
Mostly because of how heavy that one is when you bring it around school.[DOUBLEPOST=1538145323][/DOUBLEPOST]If you can spare a few hundred dollars then I'd suggest:

My school does provide that model for instances that a student is missing their laptop. It works okay but the main problem I have with it's REALLY heavy.

Other than that, you should be fine.

I bought my mac from Ebay, it's cheaper than Amazon a lot of the times.
