Heyo. I'm planning to buy a new monitor within the next few days, I'm not too sure what I should go for specs-wise, so I'm looking for some suggestions.

Main use cases: Minecraft, YouTube / Twitch content creation, editing w/ Premier & Photoshop, programming (connected to my MacBook Pro)

I'd like to go for an ultrawide as I want to give that a try and it seems great for stuff like editing. Now where I'd like some advice: I'm looking at a few options and for my price range the main decision would be the following:
  1. Better quality: IPS, bright & accurate colors, thunderbolt (for MacBook), but only 60hz & 5ms
  2. Smoother: 144hz, 1ms response time, VA (so lower quality basically), no thunderbolt
Which of these two would you suggest based on the use cases I listed above?

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I would save up more for an IPS, or search around more. I bought an IPS monitor with 144hz for the same price as VA models.

144hz and response time for video editing and YouTube/Twitch content creation, and IPS for Premier/Photoshop/Programming.

I didn't vote. Looks like both options suck for your requirements.

Like the guy above said save money for IPS, I don't reccomend buying a VA monitor since they have "contrast problems". You could do a little bit more research on youtube for VA monitors and they problems. They are cheaper then IPS, but they sometimes have screen terring and "contrast problems". So I would deffinatly reccomend going with IPS. (but not the one you stated 60Hz)

Thanks for the suggestion. An IPS + 144hz + ultrawide would just not suit my budget, it's not a matter of saving up more, just what I want to spend on it.

If you had to choose, would going with an IPS be worth it over 144hz + 1ms?
