Which one?

I'm wondering what would be better to do, now I own a macbook 2011 and it works fine but is pretty slow. I upgraded the ram and battery but that has just made it mediocre.

Now I have a choice of either doing the following:

1. Buy a macbook 2019 (Pretty expensive)
2. Buy a gaming laptop (not for gaming but just mainly because it will be powerful)
3. Keep my 2011 macbook

Now I really like macbooks which is the reason why getting I'm not really fond of the idea of getting a normal laptop.

What do I plan on doing?

• Coding mainly but the reason I would get a gaming laptop would be the fact I want to work with videos and AI and some rendering which are really intensive. *Upcoming project
• Run games, nothing crazy but stuff like minecraft which is fine on the 2011 mac
• Run Google Chrome DUN DUN DAAA
• Stare at turtle pics

If you have other suggestions on laptops then please leave them below, would love to see other options.

Hello, thank you all for taking part in this discussion. I decided to go with the Asus Zenbook Pro Duo since although it's double the price of a macbook pro 2019 it does seem to be alot better
Since it has a I9-9800 CPU and a RTX 2060, it may be overkill but it does seem like a nice laptop

Price: £3000 It's expensive Ik but I will be able to make alot more than that using this Laptop

I will leave this thread unlocked so people who are making a decision like this can decide. Along with people being able to debate.​

For productivity get a macbook, but if your focus is gaming go for a gaming laptop.

Any reason you don't want a desktop? I was resistant as well at first but I've had mine for a few years now and love it.

I do have a desktop custom built pc, I just don't really like sitting at a desk when I code also I travel alot[DOUBLEPOST=1577991369][/DOUBLEPOST]I've decided to go with the Asus Zenbook Pro Duo since it's processor and gpu are much better then most you can find along with multiple displays.

I used to use Gaming laptops all the time, but found after 2-3 years they just gave up, so built a pc tower instead, and never looked back.....lol. Don't hate me for not loving laptops, please.

if you currently have a 2011 macbook then you will be very disappointed with the new models, the keyboard is beyond bad, ignoring how it seems to break from a small gust of wind the typing experience will make your hands hurt and is so unpleasent

Laptops generally are a rip off altogether, Extremely high priced in comparison to desktop PCs, If at all possible I would have suggested to go with a desktop.. Again If possible.

I already have a desktop pc, I wanted a laptop since I travel and prefer to code in bed.
