why are there so many hosts

I've been on this site for about a week, and one thing I notice in the hosting section, is like everyday some new host is created.

Why are there so many? How unique can you really be if they all are reselling from the same like four providers.

Like my business is kinda niche and not over saturated but jesus christ hosting
