Why are unregistered users allowed to view public OGs? Please fix that?

Sold an $800 account. Submitted email to Mojang about this account. They closed the account because they have evidence the account was sold, because I listed it in public OGs.

That's a pretty flawed design, if the administrators know there's a chance for your account to be closed because it's being resold, why make the subforum fof public eye to see? This site has the most notoriety for being the place to sell your accounts.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

public ogs? is there a private one?
There's a private section only, yes. I wish we would just restrict public OGs to premium only but I guess I can see the flaws.

Because it could pose a security threat to Mojang's office and/or just be too much of an effort, bare in mind they've bigger fish to fry.

1. It is not a security threat to Mojang to have them create accounts. There have been Mojang employees that created accounts on here in the past. One of them buying premium, talking in shoutbox, and even publicly stating who he was. Yes, it was confirmed.
There's nothing stopping them from creating an account, and even buying premium, nothing. There might even be accounts like that registered to an ip which we don't know to be associated with the Mojang team.

2. Minecraft accounts are the biggest individual draw to this site. I hope to see that changed in the future, and will be working towards that change; however, for the time being, Minecraft accounts sales are simply how many people find this site. If we private the section to registered users, then none of the threads will appear in any search results, users considering joining to buy/sell accounts won't have anything to view and provide them the confidence necessary to convince them that they should register an account.
If we were to genuinely consider making the section private to any degree, I'd want to revisit my many previous statements suggesting that we remove accounts from the market entirely due to their insecure nature and use for scamming, our inability to confirm actual ownership of an account over whether or not it was stolen off of someone else, and the fact that the action of selling an account is a direct violation of Mojang's TOS. To me, us allowing the sale of MC accounts is our single greatest embarrassment as a site.

Either keep it public and be aware that Mojang employees can and will lock your account whenever they please; or remove the forum and don't sell MC accounts here at all.

Although I find your point really
valid due to the fact that a majority of people come to MCM because of the Accounts. Nevertheless, the people who mainly sell accounts, may start to leave, due to accounts getting locked, therefore less accounts being sold/ circulated, resulting in less new members. I suggest we implement a system where you have listed an OG, and dont reveal the name to public, and you may PM the certain person regarding what the og is (takes a minute maximum?) and when you PM someone the accounts associated show up, instead of publicly being shown. This is effective as Mojang employees, in reality, have NO time to message the person, ask the og, for every account.
