Recently this statement hits me hard because I've been scammed more than once this month.
I just want to ask you all, do you think it's because they are in dire need of money, is it to prove something or is it for ego reasons?

Looking to just get feed back, assistance and general advice.

I've used this site for almost 4 years, still crazy to me how it surprises me.

They just simply don't care. Whether it be about the act itself or the repercussions, they just don't.
The fact it hurts other people doesn't usually cross their mind; it's not how most of them think.
Essentially for personal gain.

It's a simple answer, they want money. But most are stupid and brag about it and have huge ego.
Thank you for your input, I was just wanting assistance to just figure out the best way. The sad thing is, a user with high rep asked for a loan and blocked me. I won't say names but just who is there to trust?

That is one of the most honest messages I've seen since my report card.[DOUBLEPOST=1614389186][/DOUBLEPOST]

It just burns. Hurts my head and heart because I was using the money for a charitable purpose and family reason.

1) If you are giving someone a lot of access, do a simple background check on them. Googling or searching on mc-market is very useful.
2) Watch out for professionality. Try to see if they are breaking promises they made such as double staffing, etc.
3) I don't know man. Some people are just salty and they ban evade to scam $$.

Most of them are little kids. The mindset is easy, free money that you don't have to work for. No one feels good about it, but even 1$ is a lot of money to a kid.

Getting banned is the least of the problems with scamming imo. The big one is how immoral it is and that you have to live with the knowledge that you have scammed.

I never said anything about it not being immoral, I said that the people who scam don't care about getting banned from the site, which is practically the only punishment for them.

Yeah, and unfortunately, everyone can open accounts (which is the whole point of the site), my accout is new, but I've been lurking about the site on and off for months now. For some reason, this site attracts an immense amount of scammers, in all categories.[DOUBLEPOST=1614392799][/DOUBLEPOST]The only advice I can give if you get scammed is to use a payment platform where you know you'll get your money back, and while this is difficult for a place like this, because it's mostly anonymous, having people sign some sort of contract before doing any deal is what helped me in many situations, and if it's kids, it scares them off most of the time, because that makes things a bit more formal. If you got no proof of a deal, you're kind of f*cked.
And why do people scam? An IRL friend of mine was doing it online, and getting money off of kids. He did it because it was easier money than a side-job, required less time, and effort. He was a nice guy, but didn't give two shits about the people online. IRL and online morals seem to be two very different things for some people.

Mostly for money. Sometimes for validation
