Why do people use Skript?

Why do people use Skript? The fact that people would learn something that is easier than fucking Lua and Scratch, that you will never use in your entire life outside of Minecraft which in my opinion is stupid. If you can't learn Java I don't know what you're doing with your life nowadays you have to learn Java to get anywhere in a Computer Science. First of Skript literally doesn't make any sort of materialistic sense so you learning Skript won't help you learn something else, like how if you learn Java you can understand OOP (Object-Oriented Programming). That's exactly what I did when I learned Java I started expanding to learning C derivatives. Now if you go even deeper and think about it the amount of String reading that will be done for Skript to function will cause lag, not even starting with it being an API of an API of an API. Learning Skript will only diminish your unrevealed talent.

People use Skript because it's an easier alternative to making your own plugins via Java, a lot of people aren't willing to put in the countless hours of work into learning Java, so they go to Skript which they can make their own plugin in maybe 3-4 hours with how simple it is.

A lot of people aren't wanting to take their coding ventures further than just minecraft servers. (Don't blame them) There is absolutely no need to trash people that use it. Keep in mind, minecraft is a game designed for kids, kids like easy, so Skript is there. Trashing people who aren't interested in going any further than Skript is counter-productive to any kind of business you might want to be getting.

There is no need to have an elitist outlook on something that someone enjoys, it makes you toxic, and the community toxic aswell.

I'm not trying to be toxic, I'm trying to see why someone would learn something that wouldn't help them later in life. Think about it the only reason you learn anything is to use it later in life, that's what school is for.

It’s a cheaper and easier version for owners that are on a budget. Also some people may not be ready to learn java or don’t have time. You never know what’s up with someone.

I guess that's true when I spend my money I try to spend it on things that are durable so I mean everyone has preferences.

Yea true but at the same time a lot of Skript lags, I mean who knows. I guess it’s useful in some situations to people

I think Skript is used by people that care about getting things done fast and not getting them done efficiently.
