Why does everyone think they can have the next best server?

The title says it all. Everyone wants to have their own Minecraft server and thinks if they start a server, They'll have 100 players on when they release. I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with trying to be an owner of a server as it's a lot of work and kind of a 50 50. You might have multiple 3k YouTubers upload your server trailer but that doesn't mean you'll get their subs to come onto your server. People are going to play on the popular servers instead of playing on some type of randy server ran by 2 15-year-olds who don't know how to think long term.

Let me know what you guys think about randies trying to be the next big server owners. If you get offended by this post because it pertains to you. good, If the shoe fits wear it but let me know what you think. I'm bored so I just said fuck it and typed what was on my mind.

These people are what keep websites like MCM, PMC, etc alive. Without them, server hosts wouldn't make as much money and chances are they're not going to be making any money off their servers so it's just funneling right back into the virtual economy which is the Minecraft metagame.
