Why don't staff have ban permissions?

Just a simple question requesting a simple answer from Mick it is literally 2 minutes worth of clicking and it's done. I find this utterly ridiculous that moderators can only moderate the less essential problems here.

On a server, normally you wouldn't give a moderators access to /ban. Same applies to here.

I see no need for there to be staff with the ability to ban users, especially since this could potentially create problems with moderators wrongfully banning people (I know that if I had the permission to ban people while I was mod I would have made some decisions that Verringer wouldn't agree with), so I'd rather completely remove the possibility for that to happen.

Besides, all bans do get worked out, as we have a system for staff to get bans managed by myself.
