Why has factions become the biggest MC gamemode?

Everywhere I go I see factions servers, most servers nowadays start off with factions and branch off to other gamemodes and keep the other gamemodes as a side gamemode. About 60-75% of the servers I see on this forum or in general are factions, I want to know why. If its for the money , there are skyblock or prison servers that have payouts.

Btw I am making this post because I am worn out of factions and it is the only gamemode I see around.

People wish to make a quick profit off of factions servers. As a result, the gamemode has become over saturated. Sky Block is also starting to go down this path as well.

I'd honestly say sb seems a lot bigger as a facs player. The whole gamemode isn't so easy to get into now, and there really aren't more than 1 or 2 actually good servers that I can think of.
