Why I like chromebooks

Now this thread is probably going to get a tone of hate or people will just call me weird. However at least here me out

First off, saves a tone of money, means I don't have to pay for an anti virus, which is always a bonus, also means that it limits stuff what I can buy which also saves a tone of money. Also there around £200, so when they finally die they are really cheap to replace.

Secondly, I just rent a cheap vps from ovh for when im developing and it gets the job done really well.

Thirdly, Design aspect, I love the design of them this is the current design of my desktop. Some models of the laptop look super fancy and nice as well, and the keyboard feels amazing to type on.

Gaming, well I just use my xbox one for gaming which I use gamepass ultimate (which I somehow found a way to get it for $2.99 every month and a half) and if a game isn't on their I either buy from CeX or an online cd key shop which saves alot of money as well.

It also has google play meaning that I can just use android apps such as powerpoint, etc for stuff which I feel helps me a lot. Especially the default text editor which is a little like Notepad++. I can also turn it into tablet mode which really nice especially if I just wanna watch netflix or something. The battery also lasts around 11 hours for me, so I don't gotta keep recharging it. I also mostly web surf when im doing nothing which I found out that this is super fast and good at. Shame it doesn't have a power button though lmao

Also if someone breaks into my house again for like the 15th time this year, their probably not going to be stealing the chromebook haha.

yeah, it actually cut my spending habit from $50 - 70 / monthly down to $15

This is really cool! I was thinking about switching to a chromebook and using a monitor with it. Is the ovh vps a problem or is it feel just like if it was on your actual pc?

Nice! well its a windows server, so it's slightly different to a normal windows computer, however I can do development and go on minecraft to test. If your planning on using it for gaming then I suggest using a gaming vps, etc. If you have any more questions such as models of chromebooks, etc feel free to pm as I know quite alot about them

btw the chromebook can run linux. Also if you currently have a windows laptop, you can use (Chromium OS) which Chrome OS is based on.

Im not trying to hate or anything as everyone has their own opinions but because this is the internet I'm just gonna give my opinion on these arguments

Antiviruses are free, plus you really dont need one unless you like to download sketchy stuff like free games or clients from a weird link. You only need a Antivirus if your a new computer user but for the most part you really dont need one, plus if you need one just get something like Malewarebytes, Bitdefender Free etc, both of these work better than literally any paid antivirus software and are 100% free. Which also means that it limits stuff what I can buy? I dont know what you mean lol. "Also there around £200 so when they finally die they are really cheap to replace", yea this is true but at the same time its like saying buying buying a used $100 car is better because they will last you 1-2 months, cheap to repair, and you can just buy another one. Im the guy that likes to buy expensive tech if it means that itll last me but thats just me.

Cute wallpaper D: but to be honest ChromeOS is sexy but then again because Windows is literally limitless theres a way to make windows look just like ChromeOS, keyboard is nice? Just get a good mechicanical keyboard lol?

haha your opinion is actually really interesting ngl, and I would like to respond to some of your points, what I mean by it limits what I can buy, is that as this is a marketplace, this heavily depends on being able to run Java and executable files, of which I cannot do on my chromebook which saves a tone of money haha, well I used to have malwarebytes premium because of the features and plus I kinda need it as I used to download stuff and just wanted maximum protection really. The thing with the mechanical keyboard is like I prefer laptops so I can use them in bed, on sofa, etc. and a mechanical keyboard would be really annoying and unsuitable. I will tell you how I get xbox gamepass for super cheap via pm's!. Well I don't really need anything like photoshop, etc as I can use photopea which is online and plus I can still download word, powerpoint, lightroom, etc. I also try to stay safe but I live in a very rough / rundown area, which has a really high crime rate sadly.

Yea, but a basically have no need to visit sketchy websites and only visit ad fly type sites for downloading Texture Packs for MC :tup:
. All I use are discord, mcm, youtube, google suite, and mega.
The last time I got a virus was when I was 8 and redownloaded some software I bought from the wrong place.
Antivirus have the most stupid and annoying popups which I experienced on my first pc so I decided to opt in for only windows defender.

thanks! haha, after my macbook got stolen it kinda got ridicolous because everything expensive I buy just gets robbed within 6 months, so I kinda have to keep it cheap.
