Why limit your profile?

If someone has many devouchs they would want to hide that,I know a few people who did that and theirs other people which I honesty don't know why they private their profile, I guess they don't want people to look at their stuff or something

Im Talking about the "Recent Activity" Tab, on your profile Page.
That shows what you posted recently and people could find out if you are working for others and not them.
Mind removing them "funny" rating?

I can do that even when a profile is private. I think the only thing it may not show is ratings, which is something that can be abused easily so they definitely should be visible so people can get caught for boosting.
Devouches can be deleted anyways, I don't see why that would be a problem.
I like to keep myself to myself. I'm not amazingly social, when I'm doing deals I'm more than happy to follow someone so they can look at my vouches and rep. You can see my trade rating and my exact rep numbers in a PM, which is what I always go in when making a deal. I'm not trying to hide anything, just don't want people nosing around on my profile. I only allow select people in, to limit who can see what I'm saying and doing. I keep my status updated so you can see it when you click on my name. Haven't ever deleted a dev ouch and don't plan to. They're all for stupid reasons and I can argue against them without ruining my rep.

I honestly think you shouldn't be allowed to limit your profile. There really isn't a true reason to have it limited.
If you don't want people to post things on your wall, a simple solution would be the ability to "lock" your wall, so only you can post on it. If you say this stops "devouching", it really doesn't. As long as you can use the reputation system, you can still give a bad rep to someone who may have attempted a scam or simply did poor/sloppy work.
If you don't want people to see your recent activity, don't have anything to hide to begin with. In response to Zeiyon's thoughts, a user shouldn't hide their activity, especially if they're someone constantly taking work (builds, art, development, etc.). Do your work, and make it known. Don't come to this website without the true intention to do proper and fair business.

I don't really know why old and reputable users would want to limit it, considering it always looks sketchy to people. I don't know if they just don't care or don't think about it that way, but it is kinda odd. And don't say "they're reputable, it's okay", because anybody is still capable of scamming, no matter who you are.

Finally, someone else understands. The sole reason I made this thread is so I can get a list of pros and cons of limiting your profile to make a suggestion thread that is actually strong unlike many others suggesting this. I had to make this because honestly I could not think of any good reasons as to why your profile should be allowed to be limited.
Pros
- Allows you to hide yourself (which isn't honestly necessary here)
- Technically lets you hide personal information (even though you can leave most things blank or put in fake info)
- You can't view the profile
- You can't post on profiles
- You can't find recent posts, information, etc.
- You can't view vouches/devouches and their reputation
- You can't give positive/negative reputation (via wall post or reputation system)
- Overall creates an anti-social barrier
While thinking of profiles, something else I think that you should be able to see is a person's warnings (I don't think you can right now?). This is important to know if someone has had prior issues in violating this website's rules. A good example would be being able to see if a user trying to sell you a plugin has been previously warned for the resale of purchased Spigot plugins, to let you know that they might be a potential rule-breaker.
Yeah but if you have it linked, it's either to sell it or show it off. If nobody can see it, then what good does that do? If your profile is private, then people can still search your threads and see that you have it for sale.
True. It may be to limit spam that people put on their walls, but I'm not sure.
