Taken directly from imgur.com/tos

"Also, don't use Imgur to host image libraries you link to from elsewhere, content for your website, advertising, avatars, or anything else that turns us into your content delivery network. If you do – and we will be the judge – or if you do anything illegal, in addition to any other legal rights we may have, we will ban you along with the site you're hotlinking from, delete all your images, report you to the authorities if necessary, and prevent you from viewing any images hosted on Imgur.com. We mean it."

Now, it seems like the banner on the right has been removed from it's Imgur hoturl(only because it's been blocked), but there are other images such as <3 , </3 , and I would presume much more in the past(I've only seen a month's worth of content).

So this site is becoming more and more popular, and that means more and more bandwidth is being eaten away for Imgur(which of course, means more $$ they're spending on you because you're too lazy to use your own webservers, @ Administration).

Tread lightly, an imgur ban is hard to lift.

(and let's not forget to mention that 99% of users here use Imgur for their own banners, content, and more which follows their ToS due to the fact that they are not directly generating revenue from you viewing their sales thread, minecraft image, etc. etc. etc.)

If Imgur wants to get bitchy then I'll use a different site simple as that.

Yea, that's really not good. I don't see how image storage would be a problem, though, as dedicated storage is as cheap as ever.

I presume this is due to the sheer laziness of making an FTP account for shareX to host their own pictures. They'd actually be able to load images much faster on their own server. Doesn't make sense why they don't.

Jesse , would you be able to comment on why image hosting isn't primarily on the MC-M servers (or if it is) explain the situation?

We are currently working with Imgur to find a solution. We can't control on what website users post their images. You can already upload files to our site using the "Upload a file" button, but I see how Imgur could be a lot easier.

More news soon...

Explain <3 , </3 , and past advertisements? I presume this might've been Mick's doing, but this is still your issue to fix it.

Your members are not the problem. We aren't breaking ToS by using bandwidth, but you guys *are* by revenueing off their image servers.

I could add also, I've seen other forums take direct images and re upload them to their own servers. This might be a plugin but I'm not aware when it comes to this software.

If you can't afford dedicated storage and want a temporary way to host images, use Gyazo. They aren't bitchy about it and uploading images is pretty simple.

I got a couple dedicated servers that I could link together and create an image sharing service with no limits to where you post your images, if you would like this let me know either by replying or shoot me a PM. I will create a thread about it soon if I set this server up.

I got various server specs and locations I can use for it. I have Intel Xeon E3-1270v2's with 32GB RAM, a 1TB HDD and a 1Gbps network. I also have 2TB HDD servers and some Dual E5s with 2TB HDDs/480GB SSDs and 10Gbps connections. If you know anything about this stuff and recommend I use a certain server message me. I think I will use a E5-1620v2 32GB RAM server with 2TB HDD and 1Gbps network to start off.

If anybody wants to support this service I will need to buy only a domain and that costs around $12. Need name ideas too. If you want to donate send whatever you would like to [email protected] thanks all! Will begin working on it now.
I can offer a free domain if this will be the use.
