Hey guys,
Firstly, this is my opinion. Please don't take any of this as gospel truth. I encourage healthy debate but will not reply to comments who aren't asking a question.
Why?
Firstly, the rule of business is that if it seems to good to be true; it is. Secondly, no one is going to sell a server that will make them money. In rare cases people are forced to leave management of succusfull servers; where they will task their admin as the new owner. Don't be an idiot and buy the story "I don't have time", the owner that is selling you this server is not a moron and knows what they are doing. To continue on that point, and this may seem obvious, if an owner states "Many youtubers, will make 5000", then why in the heck is he "taking a break" and selling it for 100$. The answer? The youtubers are all super picky, half aren't paid, the discord has been grown through contests and not natural growth, and the owner knows he's failed so he is running away trying to make scraps. Thirdly if a server isn't released DO NOT BUY IT. There are hundreds of complications that occur before release that a buyer could never know until they have purchased the server and it's to late.
What I'd look for while buying?
A healthy chat in the discord, an announcement made by a staff member on their website and or discord stating the server is being sold [so you can Gage if the players will stay and to make sure that the players respected the past owner], an online server so you can view interaction, a healthy and steady buycraft sale, a supportive staff team that you can get along with, and about 2 weeks of investigating before you buy.
Disagree? Lets hear why!
