Wiki Contributor Medal

The Wiki was added a while back, and it's just what MCM needed.

Let's encourage the growth of the wiki by giving everyone who has contributed to the Wiki a medal, and everyone that does in the future.

Possibly make it so if they make an article and it gets accepted, they get the medal.

I think this would cause lots of people to start editing the wiki for no reason, besides for getting a medal.

Maybe not for editing, but actually submitting your own accepted wiki entry. Or users that have edited to significantly improve the wiki article/guide (I'm blanking on the term for it )

Would also definitely motivate users to contribute to the wiki and help other users.

No, I'm not actually. There's a wiki contributors page anyway.

Instead of just getting a medal for editing the wiki, medals can be awarded to those who have made a substantial and useful contribution. Examples being Ivain's generous contributions to multiple wiki pages.

Not sure who would be the judge of what's useful and what's not, however.

Staff, clearly XD. Whoever decides that an article is good enough to not be removed can also decide that. Anyone who makes an article that makes the cut is eligible for it.

These kind of requirements are something you avoid as its something that anyone can do at any time without any issue/minimal effort. If you ask me, medals are not supposed to be obtained from 5 minutes of effort and should be from something note-worthy such as ex-staff due to them helping the forums or the badges since they made a contribution to help keep the forums a float. Basically anyone can give their a bit of input or create a new page on the wiki and that would then entitle them to the medal. If there was a lot more requirements to it then maybe but I don't really think a medal achievable from just posting a bit on the wiki should give a medal or you may as well ask "where's the 1000 post medal". -1 imo unless a really good reason or a reason to show why the above is not the best way to go/inaccurate is provided.
