In the UK, every month we pay "income tax", that is the tax taken depending on how much money we make. Varies from jobs to job e.g. salary/wage what we get but that money is kept by the government and once we retire (av. age about 67 i think) the government pays us money to live while we aren't working anymore from the money we paid in as tax when we did work.

NOTE: You may correct me if i'm wrong - not entirely sure if it's income tax, could be national insurance contributions or something but a vague outline of a pension is above

In China we deduct taxes off the shit we buy, so we can't "not pay taxes". Communism one point.
