So I'm trying to think if buying a windows licence is a good idea. What I need it to do is

Let me install multicraft

Let it be setup on a dedicated server and let me and some people access it though like one panel

I need to know what a good place to buy because I see a lot of cheap prices like a 37$ one on Newegg. Is this true?

Be a secure way so we can't get ddosed or hacked.

I would like it to be 2016 if possible.

Thanks

I would not recommend buying a windows licence. I would stick with linux. For which linux you should chose I would recommend Ubuntu. I can help you if you get a dedi/VPS.

PM me if you need help.

If I were you, I'd just stick with Linux.
Pick CentOS 7 if you want a smooth looking remote desktop. - I can install this for you.
Multicraft is easier on Linux, so is installing DDoS protected tunnels. - PM me for this also if interested.

You can also try Debian 8. It is extremely stable, something like the "old" Ubuntu.

Depends, I prefer Debian because I use it pretty much since I started using Linux, Centos is also cool.
Linux in general is fun.

I have to agree with OVSUS. I use Centos 7 for all my daemons and I don't have any issues. Also, it's free! :3
