I'd suggest looking up tutorials on MCEdit, Chunky, etc. along with using voxel and worldedit for touch ups in-game.

What does chunky have to do with it?

I personally like to use chunky whenever I do massive terraforming/world painting for final renders and such. The list above are just the tools I'd suggest learning how to use when jumping into the biz.

Yes, I get that. Everybody uses it or C4D. But it's not relevant to his question. Neither is any anything you listed.
