Would An Adventure Server Last/Be Successful Alone?

Hey everyone! I wanted to make an advertise server, but have to go on pause because of irl business.
I was wondering if an adventure server would even work at all. I have heard from someone that many of those servers failed and didn’t get enough profit.
I have heard suggestions that it shouldn’t be alone as the main theme as people want to play in more competitive servers. There should be a main such as prisons or skyblock so it can gain money for the adventure server as a side.
Having an adventure server is risky and can cost a lot rather then just a common server like prisons/factions/etc.

What should I do when I get back on creating my minecraft server again? Thanks!

If your adventure server is good and has playable features (Isnt just grind over and over) it will be fun and make enough money standalone... keep in mind you are competing with servers like wynncraft that have way more budget & developers so yeah it would be better to have multiple gamemodes while you make enough for a server like wynncraft
