Pretty sure there are more of these too, but these are the main ones. I personally prefer atshop.io.

What would you do differently that isn't already done by those sites?

1. Complete control (No fees, no downsides)
2. Custom layout and design, custom website designs

it's possible to make custom templates for said sites. they will charge a fee but i'm pretty sure that you will also be charging for this too, right?

a strong TOS on the website page and on the paypal invoice/payment landing is good enough to help you win most chargebacks. an order receipt is also a good idea.

What I mean by no downsides is, would you rather have your website hosted by someone else? Or by yourself?

hmm. good question but most of the time i would rather choose a trusted company, especially if i do not have the funds to make my own website (this is quite likely for most of the people using websites like selly, shoppy etc)

You don't have to rely on selly. Like let's say they have a data breach, your info gets leaked.
