Hello
Around a month ago I saw a thread about a charity server and that sparked the idea in my head to do something related to giving to the less fortunate, but that idea drowned in my head. Today someone I know hey, if you're reading this c; mentioned something related to charities so I remembered what I was planning on doing and I'm hoping to actually do it.
I live in a poor country and there's lots of poor people around, and I'm thinking that instead of donating to a foundation I could setup my own little way of helping out the less fortunate, that way I can maybe personalize it a little and give more credit to those who donate (maybe add a short message from whoever donates or something).
Here's how it would work: I'll ask people to send money via PayPal and I'll withdraw it, afterwards I will purchase food, water, clothes, and toiletries (maybe toys too for the children). Once that's all done I will proceed to distribute the purchased items. I will be documenting the whole process (photos/videos of receipts, the goods, and the items being distributed) so that everything's transparent and it's assured that the money donated is 100% used properly.
If you're gonna say something with the same idea as "Well if you want to help out why don't you sell your computer and use that money to help out?" My answer is: I want to live comfortably, call me selfish but I wont sacrifice my lifestyle for strangers, it might sound awful but I think most people are like that and I don't think there's anything wrong with that unless you're compromising another persons quality of life to improve yours, like stealing from someone. I do have have some spare time right now that could be used for this so I'm willing to do it.
If some people would be interested in this I might do it this summer (which, for me, is now until June), but I'll have to ask my dad as well if he'll allow me since there's some "safety concerns" as well (thieves everywhere :c).
So would you be interested in this?
You're free to discuss, share suggestions, point out flaws, and criticize my idea but don't be rude please c:
Thank you for reading
