Hi MC-Market im here today to ask this question.

So i have a 24gb DEDI that I'm not using atm and idk what to do with it so
I would like to ask if I would be bale to start a small server hosting thing to where people ask me for a server and they pay the amount per month? and then if people like the way I do it I could start my own hosting company?.

But I need to learn how to start a hosting company and what I need for it because I have no clue so if someone could help me out with that as well that would be grate.

Thank you

You don't need to own a physical box. There is this thing called re-selling which a lot of reputable shared hosting providers do.
Can you pm me more detail about this ?

Sure, but you are already doing it. Re-selling is just renting a dedicated machine from a datacenter and setting up VMs or Multicraft (for minecraft servers) along with some sort of billing panel.
Oh ok thank you and this box do you know how much they are because I'm guessing i ill need one of theme to host my own company

Tbh don't start a host if you don't know what you're doing. Yes, it may be as simple as renting some servers and installing some software but if you don't know how to do it then don't. The market is super saturated right now and only the hosts that know more and provide more will last. For example, a host that registers as an LLC might be a bit more reliable than one that isn't as they have the startup costs to fund the registration being $100+.

I suggest getting a job at a host first to see what it is like.

A hosting company is something difficult to get started with. I would do alot of research before investing in such thing because the market for Minecraft Server's today is immense so it will be hard to find yourself a place within it. Alot of funding will need to go towards this as well, here is some estimated pricing you will need to pay:
- Dedicated Box - $100-$500
- Domain - $10
- Multicraft / Any Panel - $5/month
- WHMCS (or Similar) - $20/month

Plus with all of this you will need the knowledge of how to use such software to back it up. Maybe try applying for an already existing host and learn how they do things before trying to adventure on your own path. Good luck.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that, because that's like saying don't learn to ride a bike if you don't know how to ride a bike. I say get experience first then look at his options with the current state of the market in server hosting e.c.t

No. It's not the same. Don't deal with people's [potentially business-critical] data if you don't know what the fuck you're doing.
