If you're user has more than one group selected, e.g. Owner & Registered. Make sure that the Registered user does not have any "never" permissions, since that will inherit up and prevent you from posting. And you can always go to Admin CP -> Users -> Analyze Permissions -> Add in username etc to check where the problem is coming from.
