I got RoyaleGraphics to do my enjin website as well and I must admit I'm extremely happy with what he did.

Doing xenforo yourself can be really hard...
Its got like 1000 times more features than enjin... and can be confusing for some people
but I like it.

Contact PixelExit. They're great and can hook you up with a XenForo style for a reasonable price. Not gonna lie but they've made better than Hypixel's site. If you're specific enough they can make something really nice. They're good friends and great people too

Enjin is a nice platform however it does not have the customization schemes as Xenforo - if you have cash spend on Xenforo but it is very dev heavy.

Yeah, that's extremely cheap for XenForo. XenForo is premium software, not a cheap one. $300 for a quality XenForo style is an excellent price.

The largest MyBB forum is a hacking related forum and it also encourages remakes of itself constantly, there are thousands of forums created just to be another version of this forum, like remakes and they want people to move to their forum. Not that it relates on the software. I think with the release of MyBB 2 it'll be modernised with modern technologies, standards and conventions and used more widely. It is one of the best free forum softwares though.

If you wanted an extra feature in MyBB then you could just browse the thousands of plugins or create your own.

yeah um, but there are addons that don't exist for mybb which exists for xenforo, actually a ton of them. And if you can code own then sure do that but id suggest xenforo if you have the cashies.

Retail price is $140, anything above that is tax and doesn't go to XenForo. It is premium software, as previously mentioned. Styles come in the thousand mark, as do add-ons. People at XF charge normal, real life, realistic prices to work. XenForo isn't cheap software and shouldn't be treat as such. I think here in the Minecraft industry things are rated at a much lower price than they should be, but in real life things are expensive. You can always go for a pre-made style, nobody is forcing a custom style here of course.

MyBB right now has a very poor coding framework to extend it in terms of development specifically. With a huge emphasis on MVC in MyBB 2.0, I think we'll see more clean, beautiful code as well as a more beautiful software. MyBB, generally speaking, is (as previously said) still one of the best free forum softwares, and up there as one of the best forum softwares. I look forward to the release of MyBB 2.0, and I think it'll open up a lot of doors as far as free forum software goes.

You're certainly right. Not only because we work with Enjin, but also because of the system itself, we do have to recommend it in certain cases. It's great to use if you're new and want to create a site (because it's easy to use), want to save money (no huge fees for custom development) and also if you just want to make everything quicker to work with and save time (in the case of larger hosts). The problem with Enjin? You don't control your data. Your data is synced across their network. You don't control your users. You can't deal with your forum user accounts if there is a problem with a lost account. Your data is in the hands of Enjin. There are cases where Enjin is excellent, and other cases where someone might opt for a software you can self host. That said, Enjin is certainly not only for small servers, and by utilising their CSS/HTML customisation options can create some beautiful websites, arguably much, much easier than how it would be to do with XenForo.

Hackforums is more of a general discussion forum. There is more gamers over there than hackers.

MyBB is old and out-dated imo.

If you want a nice GUI, design and smooth runtime then go with Xenforo (IPB if you'd like)

Hackforums.net is by far the biggest forum (besides Reddit); even it hit the news but they cant afford to change all those people.

As other users stated XenForo is a real premium board service, however there are alot of exploits and heartbleed vulnerabilities which I wont go into I've even seen some SQL Injection action for XenForo I personally would use IPB as it the most securest - enjin on the other hand is grouped up into a hub which isnt really a good thing if your planning to go big.

MCHOST_David gamers are far and few inbetween but once you drill yourself into the complicated shit you'll start seeing that 1 million 2 million members popping up also alot of big timer Anonymoose people are on there.

Xenforo is much better than enjin.
You can install all sorts of plugins, whereas enjin you have to pay for certain plugins for the forum etc.
