Necroposting obviously isn't meant for shit like this. Its meant for threads where the op is selling or requesting something, this question isn't any less relevant today than it was in May. I hate it when people blindly apply rules without any regard for common sense.

I mean I probably shouldn't assume that the rules make sense, but I hope they do. If they do in fact make sense then necroposting is not allowed because it sucks when something that is no longer relevant is bumped to the top and takes up space as a useless relic of the past. This is one of the rare types of threads where the timeframe really doesn't affect relevancy. You can see this because a lot of people are still posting within the topic instead of just shouting necropost.

So yeah, I'm assuming the people who made the rules weren't stupid with their intentions.

I mean you can go with the "everything is subjective" argument all day with literally anything, but for here its enough to look at what most people are doing and establish logic by the trend. When there have been 30 posts today that indicate a use for the thread it is illogical to say that necroposting was deleterious.

Any rule has to serve a function other than just getting someone in trouble to be used correctly. If you want to argue about this it is going to have to be over that statement because that is really the only thing in question here.
