YouTubers vs Server List Slots - Which one is better?

Could you please backup your point?
For a server with no playerbase or a small one slots are a waste of money. You need to have 300 or so players for slots to be worth anything. People will join the server with the most players, from those on the slots.
Even for a server with a playerbase of 0?Just spoof. I think youtubers if chosen right can be more cost effective.

Like Diz said, slots usually work best with an established community. Youtubers are able to help build that community if used right. I had factions servers go from 0 to decent sizes with a handful of YTbers. Its just how you leverage everything.

CONTENT CREATORS
Okay, so these guys are your butter on your toast. These guys will normally bring the majority of your players, the best time to use them are before release and to hype the server up. Once the server has enough hype, enough people will join to have an established community on release. These guys are also good during the servers life span for trolling videos and or general server videos. They will always bring players to your server, even if there are low amounts of players online because people want to play with their favorite creators.
PLAYER LISTS
Player lists are essential for the bigger servers, they will bring you a handful of players. The people browsing through this list will normally pay attention to only two things, the type of gamemode and the amount of players online.
BEST ONE
If you are a brand new server with a low playerbase, go with the content creators.
if you are an established server/network with a good amount of users on, either do playerlists or both
(Keep in mind that I have seen playerlist slots on the first page go for thousands of dollars)

However, won't players leave after the content creator gets off the server? Like it's not sustainable...?
The idea is that you have some give exposure (hence the 100k+ youtubers selling a video for a couple hundred) and some smaller ones to stay on the server. Hell you can get some with a couple thousand fans to stay for free as long as they get good content. (Trolling videos, lets plays, grinding episodes, etc)
