Just wanted to pop in and say, different pay for different people is often how these things work. Negotiating your own pay is a life skill. No one's going to hand over a nice salary without negotiations, unless you're proven to be extremely skilled in your field.

It's just part of life, guys... and saying something as self-important as "I am only willing to show you my portfolio if you tell me the payment, or it's just a waste of time" is not a good first impression for a potential employer. It wouldn't kill you to just apply and negotiate payments later. Be professional if you want good opportunities. Act like you currently are if you don't.
