I have been making minecraft servers on and off since 2015. My primary interests are KitPvP and Factions. Beneath those are skyblock, prison, and survival. Ideally, I'd like to make a server that has kitpvp and factions, but unfortunately it seems those gamemodes are obsolete these days...

I've been playing minecraft since 2013 and have always wanted to learn how to build. Back in 2014-15, I played on kitpvp/factions servers and I was always so jealous of the builders who built those spawns/maps/shops etc because I always wanted to be able to do that. My question is...
I have unique ideas. I'm super old school so my servers would be basic but fun. I'd definitely love to do factions, kitpvp, and prison. Maybe an SMP instead of prison, haven't decided yet. But how can I go about marketing it?

Gotcha. I'm sad to hear this because it seems every gamemode I'd like to make or have fun making wouldn't work in today's game. Bums me out honestly. What about prison? I'd like to do a SMP I suppose. I just wish I can do factions/kitpvp/prison because those would be fun for me to make.
I see. That makes me sad. Because I'd love to make those two gamemodes lol. What gamemodes are most profitable and keep players?

Oh! I see what you mean. It's just SMP with a factions plugin.
How come they're not good starters? I'm fine with making an SMP, but I'm passionate about factions and kitpvp.

I've noticed that bigger servers use forums and they are still used quite a bit. I appreciate your input. I'll probably just start with discord.
