Overview
ALTAR Borders is an advanced custom border system designed for servers that need more than Minecraft’s default world border. Instead of relying on the limited vanilla border, ALTAR Borders uses a hybrid architecture with a fully custom logical border engine and a separate visual renderer.
This allows your server to create powerful custom borders with unique shapes, custom rules, premium visual effects, per-player rendering, teleport menus, and modern Folia-ready performance.
Whether you are building event arenas, spawn protection zones, dungeons, minigame maps, RPG regions, survival boundaries, or premium donor zones, ALTAR Borders gives you the tools to create borders that look and feel professional.
Hybrid Border System
ALTAR Borders does not depend on the vanilla world border.
The plugin uses its own logical border system for collision, rules, damage, pushback, and region checks. Visuals are rendered separately using modern Minecraft display technology. This gives server owners far more control than vanilla borders ever could.

Shape System
ALTAR Borders is built around independent border objects. Each border has its own world, shape, center, mode, visual style, and settings. This makes it suitable for simple spawn borders as well as more advanced event and arena setups.
- Circle Borders — Perfect for arenas, spawn zones, and survival boundaries.
- Square Borders — Great for classic region-style areas.
- Ellipse Borders — Useful for valleys, paths, roads, and custom layouts.
- Polygon Borders — Create custom-shaped regions using the wand editor.
Border Modes
- SOFT — Smoothly pushes players back toward the border center.
- HARD — Damages players when they cross the border.
- VOID — Sends players back to their last safe location.
- FORCEFIELD — Strong knockback with temporary protection.
- DAMAGE_RAMP — Damage increases as players move farther outside the border.
- FREEZE — Slows players near or beyond restricted areas.

Admin & Player GUIs
ALTAR Borders includes GUI support for easier management and navigation. Administrators can quickly open a border menu and teleport to configured borders, while players can access a separate public teleport menu controlled by admin settings.

Performance-Focused Rendering
ALTAR Borders avoids the common mistake of rendering every part of every border all the time. Instead, visuals are designed around nearby rendering and configurable limits.
- Nearby Segment Rendering — Only nearby border visuals are rendered for each player.
- Per-Player Display Cache — Different players can receive different visual border segments.
- Configurable Budgets — Control max display entities per player.
- Low Particle Usage — Particles are used as enhancement, not spam.
