Backup on Delete takes a full backup of a server the moment before it is deleted,
and keeps that archive for as many days as you choose. If a server is removed by
mistake, the files are still there.
Server deletions are permanent. One wrong click in the admin area or one bad API
call, and the server and every backup it had are gone for good. This addon closes
that gap.
What it does
- A server gets deleted, from the admin area or the Application API, and the addon backs it up first, automatically.
- The archive is kept for a retention period you set, then purged on its own.
- Everything is managed from one page in the admin panel.
Features
- Automatic backup on every server deletion, no action needed from your staff.
- Configurable retention in days. Set it to 0 to keep archives forever.
- Stores to the local node or to Amazon S3, following your panel backup driver.
- On a failed backup you choose: block the deletion and keep the server, or let it proceed.
- Admin page lists every stored archive with server name, owner, node, size and expiry.
- Hourly automatic cleanup of expired archives.
- Optional ignore list to leave chosen files out of the backup.
- Covers deletions from both the admin area and the Application API.
Compatibility
- Pterodactyl Panel 1.11.x and 1.12.x
- Wings with backups working
Installation
One automatic installer. It backs up every file it touches before changing
anything, writes a one-command rollback script, runs the database migrations and
self-tests the result. A full INSTALL.txt with manual steps and an uninstaller are
included in the package.
Good to know
The deletion waits for the backup to finish before it completes, so for a very
large server the action takes longer. This is covered in INSTALL.txt with the
settings to tune it.
No external dependencies
The addon is fully self-contained. It does not download anything from the
internet, has no license key system, and does not phone home. Amazon S3 is
optional and uses your panel's own S3 configuration.
