What is NexusJobs?
NexusJobs turns everyday gameplay into a progression system. Players join professions, earn XP and money for the actions that fit each job — mining ore, felling trees, fishing, hunting mobs, crafting, smelting, enchanting and brewing — and climb levels that pay out scaling rewards.
When a job hits max level, players prestige it for permanent multipliers and a higher rank. Daily and weekly quests, temporary boosters, timed server-wide events and cross-job synergies keep the grind fresh, while built-in anti-exploit guards keep it fair.
Result: a self-contained progression economy you can drop onto a server and configure entirely through YAML — no external economy plugin required.
Dependency Stack
- None required: NexusJobs is fully standalone and ships with an internal economy fallback plus a bundled H2 database.
- Vault (optional): routes job money through your existing server economy.
- PlaceholderAPI (optional): exposes level, prestige and XP placeholders for scoreboards and tab lists.
- WorldGuard (optional): restrict jobs to specific regions.
- TAB (optional): push prestige titles straight into the tab list.
Main Feature Set
- 8 configurable jobs: Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing, Farming, Hunting, Smithing, Enchanting and Alchemy — each with its own XP curve, reward tables and per-level bundles.
- Prestige system: reset a maxed job for permanent XP/money multipliers, rank-up commands and prestige perks.
- Daily & weekly quests: randomized per-job goals with bonus payouts, per-quest expiry and a dedicated quest menu.
- Boosters: grant timed, stackable XP/money multipliers to individual players, server-wide or per job.
- Server events: launch timed global XP/money boosts ("double XP weekend") with one command.
- Job synergies: extra bonus when a player runs thematically paired jobs together (e.g. Farming + Alchemy).
- Lifetime statistics: total XP, actions and money earned per job, tracked across every prestige.
- Leaderboards: per-job and global top lists, cached for performance, ranked by prestige, lifetime XP or maxed jobs.
- Slot or unlimited mode: cap how many jobs a player can hold, with permission-based bonus slots.
- Perks: auto-smelt, tree-feller, doubled mob drops and reduced crafting cost, all permission-gated.
Anti-Exploit & Balance
Each action type pays out at most once per configurable interval per player, so hopper-fed furnaces and similar auto-farms can't spam rewards. The cooldown is checked once per physical event, before the job loop, so one action never double-pays across multiple jobs.
Rewards are withheld when a player shows no real activity (movement or deliberate looking) within a configurable timeout — catching piston/dispenser breakers and AFK fishing setups.
A sliding-window cap limits how many rewarded actions a player can rack up within a time window, catching burst exploits the per-action cooldown alone would miss.
Interface & Quality of Life
- Clean GUI menus: paginated job overview, per-job detail view, quest list, leaderboards and a per-player settings menu.
- Per-player settings: players toggle their own action-bar feedback and level-up sound.
- Leave confirmation: an optional confirm screen prevents accidentally dropping a job and its slot.
- Rich feedback: action-bar gains, level-up titles and sounds, and optional max-level / prestige broadcasts.
- Fully bilingual: complete German and English MiniMessage message files, switchable in config.
Storage & Performance
- Dual backend: bundled H2 by default, or MySQL for networks — same feature set on both via HikariCP pooling.
- Indexed & cached: database indexes back the leaderboard queries and a short-lived cache smooths out bursts.
- Async I/O: profile and quest loading/saving run off the main thread, with periodic autosave.
- Backward-compatible migrations: schema upgrades add columns safely without wiping existing data.
Developer API
- Custom Bukkit events: JobActionRewardEvent (cancellable, with editable XP/money), JobLevelUpEvent, JobPrestigeEvent, JobJoinEvent and JobLeaveEvent let other plugins hook into the whole flow.
- Optional webhooks: post level-up and prestige milestones to a Discord-style webhook.
Commands & Permissions
- /jobs (aliases: /job, /nexusjobs): open the menu, or use join, leave, info, prestige, top, topall and help.
- /jobsadmin (aliases: /jadmin, /njadmin): reload, set, addxp, reset, info, booster, event and import.
Permissions: nexusjobs.use (default) for the menu and basic subcommands, nexusjobs.job. for joining jobs, nexusjobs.admin (op) for admin tools, plus nexusjobs.slots. and nexusjobs.perk.* for bonus slots and perks.

FAQ
Do I need an economy plugin?
No. NexusJobs has an internal economy fallback and works completely standalone; install Vault only if you want job money in your server's main economy.
Does it support MySQL?
Yes. Run on the bundled H2 database by default, or point it at MySQL for a network — both share the same features.
Can I add or change jobs?
Yes. Jobs live in individual YAML files with their own XP curves, reward tables and icons; edit, add or remove them freely.
Is it translatable?
Yes. German and English are included out of the box, and all text uses MiniMessage formatting you can fully customize.
