Probably Backpacks adds a complete tiered backpack system to your Minecraft server — from Leather to Netherite. Each tier offers more storage, more upgrade slots, and a unique 3D model visible on every player's back.

Equipped in the CuriosPaper Back slot, backpacks render dynamically with no client-side mods required. Dye them, lock them with a PIN code, link them with teammates, auto-smelt ores while walking, and magnetically collect items from across the room.

FAQ

Does it require client-side mods?
No. All 3D models, textures, and interfaces render natively using CuriosPaper's automatic server-side resource pack.

Does it work with Geyser / Bedrock?
Yes! Bedrock Edition players are fully supported via GeyserMC.
• Automatic Setup: If Geyser is running on the same server, Probably Backpacks will automatically detect Geyser's folder on startup, extract the mappings and resource pack, and copy them directly to Geyser's packs/ and custom_mappings/ folders.
• Manual Setup (Proxy/Separate Server): If Geyser is hosted on a separate proxy (e.g. Velocity/BungeeCord) or automatic setup is skipped:

Retrieve the files from your server's plugins/ProbablyBackpacks/geyser/ directory (extracted on startup).
Copy the ProbablyBackpacks_Geyser.zip and paste it into your Geyser packs/ folder.
Copy the ProbablyBackpacks_mappings.json file and paste it into Geyser's custom_mappings/ directory.
Ensure enable-custom-content is set to true in Geyser's config.yml.
Restart your server and Geyser proxy.

Can other players steal my backpack?
Stealing via sneak-right-click is fully configurable in config.yml. You can also install the Lock Upgrade to set a 4-digit PIN code that denies all unauthorized access.

What happens when I die?
Configure whether accessories drop or persist on death in CuriosPaper's config under keep-curio-inventory. Even if the backpack item drops, inner contents are stored in persistent server files and will not be lost.

Can I customize the textures and skins?
Yes! Use /bp skins to browse and equip cosmetic skins. Server owners can add custom skins in the config.

What's the difference between Free and Premium?
The free version includes the core backpack system with 6 tiers and 19 upgrades. Premium adds PIN security locking, party storage linking, smart auto smelting, xp sponge & auto repair, fluid tank storage, auto sort, whitelist filters, stealth pickpocketing, cosmetic skins, and mob backpack drops.

QUICK START

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Download CuriosPaper.jar and ProbablyBackpacks.jar
Drop both into your server's plugins/ folder
Configure the Resource Pack Host in CuriosPaper's config.ymlto deliver the 3D models to players:
- SELF Mode (Recommended): Set mode: SELF, configure a unique open port (e.g. 8080 — must be allowed through your firewall/hosting provider), and set host-ip to your server's public IP address.
- LINK Mode: Set mode: LINK and set url to a direct download link of the resource pack.
- NONE Mode: Set mode: NONE to disable automatic downloading and distribute the pack manually.
Start the server to generate configurations (you can configure SQLite, MySQL, or MongoDB in CuriosPaper's config.yml storage block if desired)
Craft a Leather Backpack and equip it in the Back slot
Type /bp or use the sneak hotkey — you're all set!
Install upgrades into the upgrade slots for extra abilities!
